July 27, 2001 -- Morrisville, NC -- RegEd, a leading provider of continuing education and compliance tools, announced a recent agreement with the National Association for Variable Annuities (NAVA) to jointly create an Internet-based self-study insurance continuing education program.  The courses will be offered through the NAVA University, which will be hosted on the RegEd site.  Unlike many "virtual universities," the NAVA University will feature online CE through RegEd's proven testing system, as well as printed versions for those states that require written examinations. 

RegEd will create, host and maintain the online educational website, which will enable visitors to enroll in and complete NAVA courses, check updated course approvals, check updated state self-study continuing education testing requirements, download forms required to comply with state requirements, read about NAVA continuing education news, and order written-format courses for states that require this format.  NAVA will create the content.  The courses will be submitted and certifications generated by RegEd's insurance division, the Insurance Education Institute Inc. (IEI). 

The courses will be reviewed, edited and supplemented by NAVA.  NAVA, a non-profit organization with more than 350 member organizations, is dedicated to increasing public knowledge and acceptance of annuity and variable insurance products representing all segments of the annuity and variable life industry.  The organization has initiated other CE accreditation activities in conjunction with its conferences and the NASD.
