Mark Your Calendars: September 9 to 11

WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) today announced that the IRI 2012 Annual Meeting will be held from Sept. 9 to 11 at the Hilton San Diego Bayfront in San Diego, Calif.

As the insured retirement industry faces challenges from economic uncertainty and prolonged low interest rates, discussions during the IRI 2012 Annual Meeting will focus on overcoming these challenges to capitalize on emerging opportunities across the market. Announced speakers include: 

• Haley Barbour, former Chairman of the Republican National Committee and former Governor of Mississippi. Governor Barbour will provide insights into the current political climate, the upcoming elections, and what it could mean for the industry and market participants.

• Peter Diamandis, Chairman and CEO of the X Prize Foundation, which is best known for offering a $10 million prize for private-sector spacecraft development. Diamandis will discuss how organizations can reinvent their industry by encouraging new products and strategies.
