Todd Taylor is the Head of New York Life’s Retail Annuities business, an industry leader with over $13 billion in 2021 sales. In this role, he is responsible for leading all aspects of the company’s second largest profit center, including strategy, product development, marketing, sales, service, and operations.

Todd joined New York Life in 2008 as part of the company’s actuarial training program and has had roles of increasing responsibility across the insurance and annuity businesses and corporate areas, including pricing and product development, financial projections and planning, and corporate strategy and internal consulting. Most recently, he led strategy and analytics for Retail Annuities.

He has authored a number of articles and whitepapers on retirement topics, including those on the value of income annuities in retirement income strategies, the impact of behavioral economics on retiree spending behavior, and healthcare expenditures in retirement. He also holds a patent for a retirement product allocation framework (the “Efficient Income Frontier”).

Todd graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Economic Analysis and Math from Binghamton University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries. He is a member of advisory boards for The American College’s Center for Retirement Income and the Investment and Wealth Institute’s Retirement Management Advisor (RMA) Commission. Todd lives in New York with his wife, Shannon, and their two children.
