Doug Brigman is the president of the Raymond James Insurance Group (RJIG), a wholly-owned subsidiary of Raymond James Financial. RJIG’s full-service platform offers financial advisors access to a robust protective planning solution through an extensive team of nearly 200 specialists with strong technical knowledge, various insurance products, educational and licensing materials, and marketing tools.

Prior to his current role, he served as the senior vice president at Raymond James with responsibility for the Tampa Bay complex of Raymond James and Associates. In this role, he supported over 110 financial advisors and 90 associates in 15 branches with over $65 million of P&L responsibility, recruiting over $13MM during his tenure. Doug was selected as the 2020 Raymond James and Associates Complex Manager of the Year in recognition of his efforts.

Doug joined Raymond James in 2008 as the director of cash management and lending solutions. During his tenure in that role, he drove the business case and deployment of Raymond James’ Securities Based Line of Credit while managing the go-to-market strategy and administration of Capital Access (a cash management account) and the Raymond James credit card. He followed that role by leading the planning and strategy division for the Private Client Group, focused on growth opportunities, corporate development engagements, and other firm-aligned strategic initiatives. Finally, before moving to the role of Complex Manager of Tampa Bay, he served as the head of fiduciary services for Raymond James, working closely with the firm’s Executive Committee to ensure compliance with the DOL’s previously released Fiduciary Rule, while preserving a competitive platform for financial advisors and their clients.

Before joining Raymond James, he led a team at Progressive Insurance responsible for more than $100 million in P&L ownership over multiple states through the independent insurance agent channel. He also served various roles within operations, vendor management, and consulting at BellSouth Telecommunications.

A graduate of the University of Virginia Darden School of Business, where he earned his MBA, he also holds a Bachelor of Science in industrial engineering from the University of Florida and is a certified Financial PlannerTM professional. He is a board member of The Florida Aquarium and the Florida Council on Economic Education and serves on the Team Selection Committee for the Outback Bowl. Doug and his wife, Lauren, enjoy traveling and spending time with their four children.
