Scott Gaul leads Prudential’s Individual Retirement business, delivering leading retail protected accumulation and lifetime income solutions including the company’s flagship FlexGuard registered index-linked annuity suite, and their portfolio of fixed annuities through broker-dealer financial professionals and independent marketing organizations.
Collectively, the Retirement team protects the life’s work of more than 3 million people across Individual and Institutional markets, providing over $15 billion of retirement income each year. The business expands access to retirement security by providing industry-leading solutions for growth and protection through its relationships with more than 7,500 institutional clients and 100,000 retail financial professionals.
Gaul previously led the Institutional Retirement team at Prudential, driving consistent growth and notable U.S. transactions in pension risk transfer, international reinsurance, stable value, and structured settlements. With over 25 years in financial services, he has also held senior actuarial, finance, and national sales leadership roles at Prudential.
Gaul played key roles in the landmark General Motors and Verizon pension buy-out agreements and was instrumental in launching Prudential’s longevity reinsurance product in the United Kingdom. Earlier in his career, he worked at Cigna in actuarial and finance positions across healthcare, COLI, ALM, and retirement businesses.
Gaul earned a bachelor’s degree in actuarial science from Pennsylvania State University and is a Fellow of the Society of Actuaries (FSA).
