Vijay Raghavan is Vice President of Research at the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI), where he leads the organization’s research agenda to advance retirement security for all Americans. He translates behavioral insight, competitive intelligence, and emerging technology trends into strategic guidance for member firms across the insured retirement and lifetime income ecosystem, informing executive decision-making, product innovation, distribution, and policy engagement.
Prior to joining IRI, Raghavan served as an industry analyst at Forrester, covering investing and wealth management globally. His research shaped roadmaps for digital platform modernization, AI integration, and advisor enablement, and he authored influential reports analyzing the future of the industry and its customers. Previously, Raghavan led advisory engagements at EY on growth strategy and operating model transformation and also held marketing and customer experience leadership roles at American Express, where he launched the company’s first digital bank, American Express Savings. He regularly advises C-suite executives, speaks at industry conferences, and has been quoted in The Financial Times, The New York Times, The Wall Street Journal, Barron’s, CNBC, and Forbes.
Raghavan holds an MBA from Rice University, a BA in Economics, and a BA in Microbiology from Miami University (Oxford, Ohio). He lives in Sleepy Hollow, New York, with his wife, two sons, and a daughter.
