WASHINGTON, D.C. – Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) President and CEO Wayne Chopus issued the following statement regarding the U.S. Senate vote to confirm the appointment of  Jaime Lizárraga and Mark Uyeda as Commissioners at the U.S. Security and Exchange Commission (SEC).

“On behalf of IRI and our member companies, we congratulate Commissioner Lizárraga and Uyeda on their appointment to the SEC. The Commission has several important issues that demand the attention of a full slate of Commissioners. We look forward to working with them on issues that advance effective consumer protections and promote responsible investing, particularly in retirement income products and services that can help Americans achieve a financially secure and dignified retirement.”
