Tammy Tibbs is the executive assistant and office manager for the Insured Retirement Institute (IRI). With more than 20 years of experience in providing support to and understanding the needs of others, she is passionate about inspiring confidence and creating a sense of value for stakeholders. At IRI, Tibbs provides a wide range of high-level administrative and organizational support for the senior leadership team, she also supports the office’s day-to-day business needs and contributes to special projects across the association.

Prior to joining IRI in 2016, she served as the executive assistant to the CEO at Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc., a non-profit organization that serves the public by fostering professional standards in personal financial planning. In this role, Tibbs managed the executive office, the Board nominations process, and planned internal staff events. She also transitioned specific company practices from a paper to an electronic database and established a recognition program for the volunteers of the organization.

Prior to her years in organizational support, Tibbs worked as a legal secretary to a former congressman and a full-service law firm. During this time, she managed timekeeping and transcribing production, assisted in the administrative construction of pre-hearing briefs and arbitrations, researched legal precedents, and built monthly statistical reports for international commodities.

Tibbs lives in Southern Maryland with her husband.
