WASHINGTON, D.C. – The Insured Retirement Institute (IRI) issued the following statement following the Senate’s confirmation of Lisa Gomez as Assistant Secretary of Labor for the Employee Benefits Security Administration, an agency within the U.S. Department of Labor. EBSA is responsible for regulating and enforcing employee retirement, health, and other workplace benefit provisions of Title I of the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA) of 1974.
