Michael Sturm is responsible for the strategic development and performance of annuity products for Bank of America. In this role he drives growth, optimal client experiences, industry connectivity and risk management. Functions include management of the annuity product team, product development, annuity integration, regulatory compliance, financial performance, technology implementation and alignment with distribution partners.

Michael joined Bank of America starting with Merrill Lynch in Sept of 2007 as a customer service representative on the 401k platform. In 2009 he spent time as a Retirement Education Specialist where he helped our plan participants review options in retirement. He then went to work as an Internal Retirement Specialist on the personal retirement desk assisting our financial advisors position retirement solutions to our clients. He relocated to Los Angeles California in 2013 where he was responsible for retirement and annuity sales performance in southern California and Hawaii as an External Retirement Specialist. In 2016 he returned to Jacksonville Florida to lead the Personal Retirement Desk until taking his most recent role in 2019.

Michael graduated from the University of North Florida with a Master of Business Administration in 2018. He attained a Bachelor of Science in Psychology in 2005 at the University of Central Florida. He holds the FINRA Series 7, 66, 24 and CRPCTM designations.

Michael serves on the board of directors for the Merrill Lynch Life Agency. He is a founding member and executive sponsor of the Jacksonville Parent and Caregiver Network. He is a representative of the Jacksonville site committee, member of LEAD for women, IGEN and the MSAG employee networks. Due to his commitment and leadership within the firm’s diversity and inclusion efforts he was awarded with a global diversity and inclusion manager award in 2019.

He and his wife Anita live in Jacksonville Florida with their children Aria, Caleb, and Sofia. Michael is an avid swimmer and runner.
